A2 – Part B – Question 2

As per the headline in Question #1, was the headline representative of the article? Please explain your reasoning in detail. (4 Marks)

The headline did represent the content of the article as it made good on its promise.

The use of the number 29 tells me something very specific, it makes a promise for exactly what I can expect to receive if I were to click the article. Upon further inspection every listed number from 1 to 29 contained information that was based on the headline quite accurately.

If any aspect of the listed information contained anything off-topic it would not fully represent the article, which was not an issue for this article.

The headline used powerful words to describe the context/main message of the article. They used words such as “Humiliating” and Disgraceful” and the content of the article was perfectly defined with this word choice.

The headline was transparent and told me exactly what I wanted to know. Every piece of content listed was about embarrassing celebrity facts which were upheld throughout the entire article.  Based on our in-class discussions we know that if a headline is not honest Google will give the page and website a bad score which helps verify that this headline is representative of the headline.
